New Home alert!

Contre Le Mur is excited to share that one of its art family has found a new home. Silver Lake, Ohio, a photograph by Brenda James, is going back home to Ohio! This wonderful photograph is a framed sepia toned image of the lake and its resident ducks.

From the website of the village of Silver lake, "The Village of Silver Lake has a rich and colorful history. In 1874, Ralph H. Lodge bought “the Lake” and 35 acres from Joshua Stow’s heirs. Lodge proceeded to develop a large and very popular amusement park that included an airport and racetrack. At the height of its success, the park had 10,000 visitors a day. In 1912, the railroads discontinued their excursion service, which proved detrimental to the park. The entire 600 acre Silver Lake Park was later sold in 1917 and subdivided for residential building"

We are so delighted that this piece of art has found its way from Colorado back to the region where it was created. Contre Le Mur's mission is to find art its forever home and make art accessible to everyone. Congratulations to Silver Lakes new owners!
