Not all art hangs on a wall, or is one of a kind. Some mass-produced pieces transcend into the realm of art. This young lady's haunting gaze and beautiful eyes will draw you in and lend an air of solemn grace to any nook or spot you place her into. Chalkware was mass produced in the 1950's to be given away at fairs and carnivals as an inexpensive prize. While many pieces were quickly created and quickly destroyed, Japan took the chalkware craze and elevated it through their busts of different cultures. You could find Islanders, countries of Europe and Middle Eastern countries. Of the Lego's this particular bust is of higher quality with fine painting, eyes that sparkle and a very carefully crafted facial expression.

Lego Hawaiian Polynesian chalkware bust!  9x6, right facing, downward gaze with pink hibiscus flowers in her jet-black hair and white flower collar.  Felt bottom.  No signatures.  No chips, cracks or crazing on piece.  Back of hair has a few age-related tiny paint losses.  This young lady is absolutely captivating and one of the better Lego Japan chalkware pieces offered.  Others don't have the character of this piece.
